JOHN DEERE FRONT & REAR SUCTION DOOR PARTS (HI DRUM)
The John Deere front and rear conventional suction door parts are part of the air system on the older cotton-picking units. It may be rare that you need one of these components for your harvester, but if you do, we will do what we can to help. Farmers and dealers can buy the individual parts that have failed. This saves the farmers money in overhead from spending more than needed.
Maintenance is the life source of all parts and components of the cotton picking machines. The front and rear suction door is a significant part of the air system to keep the operation flowing. Each element for the suction door must function at its full potential. If one of the elements fails, the farmer’s task of completing the harvest could be shut down. Regular checkups and maintenance will give a heads-up on any part fixing to break. Catching it early is critical to the harvesting operation.
This diagram shown here has 18 pieces for the John Deere conventional front and rear (Hi Drum) suction doors.
About the Air System
The air system is a critical part of the cotton-picking machine. It prevents blockage during harvest by allowing the cotton to flow freely through the system. If there is low air pressure, damp cotton will get clogged and cake up. If the front or the rear suction door fails or the duct wears out, air pressure drops, and the cotton slows down, creating a blockage to form as the harvest piles up. This can cause extensive damage and must be repaired immediately. The best-case scenario is that only a small part fails, and the farmer will not have to purchase the entire component. The good news is every individual piece is sold separately, as seen below. Due to low demand some parts may be discontinued from production.

The Shelves Remain Stocked and Ready for Shipping
Massive delays occur when parts break on a cotton-picking machine. One small piece can shut down the harvester or cotton-picking system, and time is lost. When it is time to harvest the cotton, all parts must operate to their fullest capacity. The farmers and dealers need shipments ready at any moment without delays.
Everyone works as a team to keep the shelves stocked and ready for shipment. The farmers go through the local dealers for parts or may get them straight from the warehouse. Without delay, with the farmer or dealer supplying the part number, shipments go out the same day to get the farmer back up and working almost immediately. Within a day or two, depending on the time of day the part is ordered, it can be in the farmer’s or mechanic’s hands, ready for installation. The aftermarket John Deere harvester parts allow the farmers to get the exact part from a generic brand with the same or better quality than the OEM. With maintenance as the highest priority, the parts will last through the remaining harvesting season and beyond many more.
